THIS was my issue! Thank you so much!I ended up grabbing the Protection Fix/Region Selector PPF from KAL and tried applying it to my.BIN. The game can load up races just fine now without any fuss!It seems most emulators now can avoid triggering the PAL's anti-piracy protection and I'm an American who grew up with the NTSC release which lacked the anti-piracy trigger, hence my confusion. I wanted to import the PAL release's actual disc since the PAL release had a couple of neat things in it that weren't in the NTSC release and it makes a cool little collector's item with the case.Again, thanks tons!. (Sorry about the constant loud noise in the background.
That's a fan I had running.)I'm having a bit of a strange issue with my own personal dump of Crash Team Racing. For whatever reason, the game completely freezes while trying to load a race in any game mode. Even weirder is that the Adventure Mode HUBs work, but also freeze in the same manner shown here when I try to enter a race track.I've tried dumping the game using mmCM's dumping tool as an ISO, and also dumped it in.BIN/.CUE format using ImgBurn on my PC.
Both give the same result. The game works absolutely fine if I run it straight from the legitimate disc I own, which is the strangest thing about all of this.Any ideas? I'd love a solution, but I'm not holding my breath.
I might have to just stick with the UK PSN release to play the game on this system, but I'd love to see if anybody has encountered anything similar with any other discs in their collection and have a solution.
